Alongside the MINI John Cooper Works GP, MINI Malaysia also launched the first ever, all-electric MINI Cooper SE yesterday, priced at an attractive RM218,381 on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of the Sales Tax Exemption.

With the Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the all-electric MINI will only cost RM 2,421.00 per month to own on estimates of 80% loan on a 5-year tenure. The electric MINI is accompanied with a 4-year Unlimited Mileage Warranty and an 8-year or 100,000km High Voltage Battery Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.

Void of an internal combustion engine, the MINI Cooper SE is powered by an electric motor, producing 184 hp and 270 Nm. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a single speed transmission, where 0 to 100 km/h will take just 7.3 seconds, onward to a top speed of 150 km/h.

When driving, brake energy regeneration from decelerating the vehicle not only feeds back into the high-voltage battery but also allows for the vehicle to be driven using only a single pedal. Within just 2.5 hours, the all-electric MINI can be charged up to 80% using the MINI Wallbox Plus. As it is fully electric, the T-shaped battery pack is positioned where the conventional exhaust system would sit.
