Proton makes 1st-time car ownership more affordable for fresh graduates

They say buy a car to get to work and get to work to pay for the car. For those who are starting out life with student loans and living expenses, taking on another commitment such as car ownership can be a daunting prospect. Car ownership is a necessary evil but it doesn’t mean that you have to live on bread and water; not with Proton’s latest Fresh Graduate Campaign.

Through its subsidiary, Proton Commerce, the company today introduced a campaign to make car ownership more affordable for fresh graduates with low-interest rate Hire Purchase loans.

If you’re looking for an affordable “first car”, you can’t go wrong with the facelift Saga.

To qualify for the loan, the applicant will need to fulfill these requirements:

  • between the age of 18 to 30 years old
  • a graduate with a minimum of a Diploma
  • holding a job with a minimum salary of RM1,500
  • submit a letter of employment or a month’s salary slip

Interest rates under the Fresh Graduate Campaign start from 2.98%; one of the lowest in the segment, according to Proton. The offer runs till the 31st of December 2020, coinciding with the sales tax exemption initiative.

“We are confident that this package will assist fresh graduates in owning a car, as monthly repayments start from as low as RM239 per month” said Proton Commerce, CEO, Mooi Fi Phang.
