“MINI GP” stunt in YouTuber’s backyard takes an ugly turn

Call it a publicity stunt or Post “Lockdown” Stress Disorder but what was supposed to be a high quality production of the MINI JCW GP by a French YouTuber whose channel goes by the name of Pog, took a turn for the ugly.

The video started with the MINI JCW GP being delivered in a crate box followed by its unboxing and what followed was completely unexpected. The MINI was then driven, Ken Block-style lap after lap around the YouTuber’s backyard which in a way, was a fantastic display of the MINI’s agility as it slithers through narrow alleys and between trees.

What followed was simply heart-wrenching but not surprising. As the MINI tipped over and landed on its belly again, the roof seems to have suffered the brunt of the damages. The JCW GP which is limited to only 3,000 units, had only done a total of 23 km. We’ll wish the MINI a speedy recovery based on Pog’s Instagram account.

The JCW GP is the most extreme MINI you can buy with 306 hp and 450 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. Paired to an 8-speed automatic, 0 to 100 km/h takes just 5.2 seconds.
