Ford creates PVC partitions for its Transit vans

Ford creates shields for use in commercial vehicles

Designed for its Ford Transit vans used primarily for commercial services, the shields which come with factory warranty, are made of transparent polyvinyl (PVC) plastic with integrated straps and suction mounts.

Once installed, the shields do not restrict passenger comfort, interior space or operation of the heating and ventilation systems. The transparent PVC material also allows the driver to retain full visibility of the windscreen, side windows and mirrors, and passengers can still hear and see each other as normal. Definitely not as cool as what they did with the Ford Interceptor police vehicle though!

Users can quickly and easily fit, adjust and remove shields in the Ford Transit without requiring interior modifications, while the shield’s versatile design allows them to be flattened for storage.

The shields can be fitted to offer four separate configurations – between driver and front passenger, behind front seats to partition from the rest of the cabin, between driver, front passenger and behind the front seats and lastly, between and behind the driver and front passenger and between second-row seats.

Lightweight, flexible materials with secure mountings are designed to prevent injury in the event of an accident while the mounting points and strap positions will not prevent the airbags in the Ford Transit van from deploying.
