For those that relish in individuality, MINI Malaysia has got a treat for you with the launch of the 20-unit-only limited-edition MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition – a nameplate that can trace its roots all the way back to 2007 on the original MINI Convertible.
The Sidewalk edition differentiates itself from the regular MINI Convertible with its variant-exclusive visual flairs, starting with the new Deep Laguna metallic exterior colour, made available in the country for the first time with this limited-edition variant, paired with geometric-pattern stripes across the bonnet.
The pattern is also repeated on the fender “side scuttles” along with a Sidewalk badge, while the soft-top roof is embellished with a chevron pattern, completing the geometric shapes motif found on the rest pf the car. The 17-inch Scissor Spoke two-tone wheels are also exclusive to the Sidewalk.
Inside, the MINI Yours Leather Lounge Sidewalk seats in anthracite is finished with Petrol blue and Energetic Yellow contrast stitching – the same colour combination is also found throughout the cabin, including the door trims and floor mats.
The MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition is fitted with the range-topping Wired Package, which includes an 8.8-inch MINI Visual Boost touchscreen infotainment display with built-in navigation and 4G connectivity, and a wireless charging pad for your mobile phone. Music is pumped through a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Based on the Cooper S Convertible, the Sidewalk edition is powered by the B48 2.0-litre four-cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo engine, which is good for 192hp and 280Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance wise, the new limited-edition convertible completes the century sprint in 7.1 seconds, onward to a top speed of 230 km/h. MINI claims that it can also achieve a fuel consumption figure of 5.7 l/100km.
The MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition is now available at RM285,899.47 (with sales tax exemptions, on the road without insurance), which includes a four-year unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled maintenance, as well as a five-year roadside assistance programme.
With the Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the Sidewalk Edition can be yours starting at RM3,266 per month (based on estimates of 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
