In conjunction with MINI’s 60th Birthday, MINI Malaysia has just launched the MINI Convertible to the local market. Only 20 units of this premium soft top MINI will be imported by the official local distributor and is priced at RM279,888 (OTR without insurance).
The powered fabric roof that can be stowed away in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h further elevates MINI’s hallmark Go Kart driving experience. Other than the fabric roof (with Union Jack pattern), the MINI Convertible shares the same exterior equipment as the MINI Cooper S with LED headlamps, Union Jack LED taillamps and 17-inch Rail Spoke design alloy wheels.
Being the Cooper S variant, the MINI Convertible packs a B48 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and 7-speed Steptronic Sports dual-clutch automatic transmission to drive the front wheels. Output is rated at 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque, allowing the MINI Convertible to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds onwards to a top speed of 230 km/h.
The cabin is furnished in a Malt Brown theme for the upholstery, MINI Yours illuminated Union Jack interior trim, MINI Yours Nappa leather steering wheel with paddle shifters and 6.5-inch MINI Centre Instrument touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity.
A total of 5 exterior colours are available Chili Red, Solaris Orange, Melting Silver, Starlight Blue and Caribbean Aqua which is exclusive to the convertible model. Every purchase before 31 August 2019 will receive a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty and 5-Years/80,000 km Free Scheduled Service in conjunction with MINI’s 60th-anniversary celebration.
