You’ve seen what five of Malaysia’s most sought-after pick-ups are capable of in our previous video so for this one, we’ve picked out five SUVs we thought you’d like to see go head-to-head against each other in yet another special episode of our shootout series.
We have the Proton X70, the evergreen Honda CR-V, the powerful Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo, the Nissan X-Trail and a wildcard, the Peugeot 3008.
The faces in this video are a little different too. This time it was GC Mah‘s turn to babysit the line-up of other presenters which consisted of the surprisingly quiet (in this video) Bobby from Aurizn Malaysia, Hisham from Roda Pusing, Tom from Zerotohundred and last but not least, our local motorsport darling, Leona Chin.
The challenges this time around were different too. As they were SUVs used mostly in urban areas and for families to go on road trips, the off-road challenge from the previous pick-up video was axed in favour of a fuel consumption challenge. This required all the drivers and their respective SUVs to go on a short drive to Port Dickson to see who could get there using the least fuel. The result would surprise you.
Of course there is the customary drag race, followed by a short course in which the SUV’s maneuverability, visibility and braking performance were put to the test.
