Make do with the 510 hp G-Power BMW M340i while we wait for the M3

They often say “good things come to those who wait”. BMW is probably one to subscribe to that notion, as they’ve taken their own sweet time to release the forthcoming BMW M3 and M4. We’re not complaining – as long as the end result is good.

The G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4 is due to launch later this year. But if you really can’t wait any longer to get your hands on one, German tuning house G-Power is here to help tide you over with their GP-510 BMW M340i tune.

G-Power GP-510 BMW M340i tune

The recipe is simple – take the most powerful 3 Series currently available, and squeeze as much power out of it as possible. The result, as the name suggests, is 510 hp extracted from the 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six B58 engine – impressive.

To achieve that uprated power, G-Power remapped the ECU, and tacked on a bigger turbocharger, along with a new downpipe and stainless steel exhaust system. Of course, you’ll also want to check the box for the increased Vmax – up to 330 km/h.

The GP-510 tune starts at 12,017 Euros (RM57K), and that’ll net you 510 hp and 690 Nm of performance – well within, or even above the realms of M3 performance levels. G-Power says that the tuned M340i will complete the century run in just 3.7 seconds.

If you think that’s a bit too much though, G-Power is also offering the GP-420 and GP-470 which, you guessed it, makes 420 hp and 470 hp respectively. The former is the cheapest naturally, dropping the naught-to-100 time to four seconds flat with just an ECU tune costing 1,695 Euros (RM8K).
