Lamborghini’s forthcoming V12 track slayer sounds glorious at full tilt

Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse motorsport division teased their track-only hypercar in October last year. While we still don’t have a name for the beast, Lamborghini has just released a couple of teaser videos to give us a taste of what it will be like – and boy oh boy does the V12 sing.

Just to jog your memory a little bit, the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 in the unnamed hypercar is sourced from the Lamborghini Aventador, but turned all the way up to 11 to produce 830 hp.

The bodywork and chassis is also supposedly based on the Aventador, but from the limited shots provided in the video, it looks like the Squadra Corse hypercar will have a far more sophisticated bodywork – it is a race car after all.

The video gave us a brief look at the vented bonnet and wheel arches, a very elaborate rear third quarter aero fins and giant air vents, the large carbon-fibre wings, as well as an aggressive rear diffuser that looks like it was taken straight from a Formula 1 car. The square LED matrix just adds to that illusion.

Lamborghini says that their latest track bull has entered the final stages of development, and is scheduled to be unveiled later this year. We can’t wait to see (and hear) more of it!
