Video: We checked out the Subaru Forester GT & Forester e-Boxer in Singapore! – AutoVlog

We visited our Southern neighbour last month to check out the the 2020 Singapore Motor Show, where we had the opportunity to drop by Subaru’s stand.

So what’s the buzz at the show? Let Lionel take you through some of the things we saw, including the Subaru Forester GT Edition, which has been confirmed to arrive on our shores by Q3 2020.

The Forester is the second model to receive the GT treatment from the Subaru line-up, after the XV GT Edition. Designed in collaboration with Giken Co. Ltd. and Mr. Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, the Forester GT comes with several visual enhancements.

As part of the GT aerokit, the Forester GT Edition comes with a beefy black front and rear bumper extensions, side skirts, a new black roof spoiler, as well as exclusive 18-inch wheels.

Inside though, the only difference setting the GT Edition apart from the standard Subaru Forester are the new two-tone seats.

The Forester GT will come equipped with an updated eight-inch infotainment display, which features a higher resolution screen, as well as the All-round View Monitor 2 function. Subaru says that the new infotainment system will make its way onto existing models too, as a running update.

Apart from the visual changes, the Subaru Forester GT Edition remains pretty much identical to the 2.0i-S EyeSight variant. That means you still get the same 2.0-litre Boxer engine, pumping out 156 hp and 196 Nm of torque to all four wheels through the seven-speed Lineartronic CVT gearbox.

At the motor show, we also managed to check out the Forester e-Boxer, featuring a mild-hybrid powertrain. Unfortunately though, this one’s not coming over the causeway.
