All Volvo plug-in hybrid models purchased from 1st January 2020 onwards in Malaysia will now come with an 8-year PHEV battery warranty; this constitutes an extension of three years from what was previously only five.
Volvo Car Malaysia’s 8-year high voltage battery warranty on its T8 Twin Engine variants found on the S60, XC60, S90 and XC90 models trumps the 6-year warranties offered by premium rivals such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia.
Volvo Car Malaysia is silent as to whether existing PHEV owners who purchased their vehicles prior to 1st January 2020 are able to extend their battery warranties to 8 years, though we understand that this is being looked into at the moment.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with Chinese New Year, Volvo is offering special deals for selected models, e.g. complimentary 5-year maintenance service package on the XC40 T5 R-Design, ‘Ang Pow’ rebates worth RM23,888 and VSA 5+ package for the XC90 T5 Momentum and S90 T5 Momentum while certain PHEV models will come with complimentary Recharge Package worth RM10,000 as well as the VSA 5+ package; all the offers are valid until 29 February 2020.
