The grown-up Audi Q3 is here to take on the big boys

Following the introduction of four new SUV models earlier this year, Audi Malaysia keeps up the momentum by unveiling the second-generation Audi Q3 on our shores to take on the premium compact SUV market.

Built in Gyor, Hungary, the fully-imported Audi Q3 is priced at RM269,900.

The Audi Q3 has grown in virtually all dimensions, including the wheelbase which has been stretched by 77 millimeters. As a result, the second-generation Audi Q3 boasts a cabin with more knee room, head room and elbow room.

The styling of the Audi Q3 has also grown up a fair bit, with the highlight being the large octagon Singleframe grille with eight vertical bars at the front.

Adding to the sportier appearance are the large air inlets at the lower front apron, as well as the slim full LED headlights flanking the Singleframe grille.

Drawing inspiration from the Audi Quattro DNA, the prominent shoulder line adds to the muscular appearance of the SUV. The wheel arches also feature a colour-contrasting cladding for an outdoor look.

At the rear, the Audi Q3 features a long roof-edge spoiler that extends from the steeply-raked D pillars. The LED taillights also feature dynamic indicators.

The high-tech cabin from its higher-tier siblings also makes its way into the Audi Q3. Featuring the top-of-the-line MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system, the 10.1-inch touch display makes up the central element of the dashboard.

The MMI infotainment system supports natural-language voice control, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity for your mobile phone.

Coming as standard in the Audi Q3 is the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus. Featuring a 12.3-inch digital display, the digital instrument cluster offers two additional views that can be customised through the MMI infotainment system.

As a result of the elongated wheelbase, the interior space offers additional versatility through 150 millimeters of fore/aft movement for the rear seats. Boot space can also be expanded from 530 to 1525 litres via the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats.

The Audi Q3 in Malaysia will only be offered in a single powertrain option – a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine generating 150 hp. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed S-tronic automatic transmission.

The SUV does the zero to 100 km/h sprint in 8.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 207 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.2 l/100km.

As an added bonus, all Audi cars including the new Q3 purchased from the 2nd to 10th November will qualify for an exclusive lucky draw with the following prizes:
1st prize – Exclusive Audi Driving Experience in Germany valued at RM 40,000
2nd prize – Shopping voucher for Audi Genuine Accessories valued at RM 5,000
3rd prize – Front Genuine Universal Traffic Recorder (UTR) valued at RM 2,500
