Cause checking on what and where our friends are eating for lunch on Instagram is more important than checking our car’s tyre pressure just once every fortnight.

At this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Continental presented Conti C.A.R.E – Connected, Autonomous, Reliable and Electrified – a tyre of tomorrow for the requirements of future electric and autonomous driving.

The tyres feature sensors that are built into the structure of the tyre. These sensors generate and continuously evaluate data concerning tread depth, possible damage, tire temperature and tire pressure.

A centrifugal pump built into the wheel generates compressed air when the vehicle is on the move to actively adjust the tyre presure and keep it within an ideal range.

Any excess compressed air is stored in an integrated tank for the tyre’s “PressureBoost” technology which uses this air to rapidly adapt the tyre pressures to various driving situations.

Regularly spend countless hours online looking at cars and parts I can't afford to buy. How a car makes you feel behind the wheel should be more important than the brand it represents - unless resale value is your thing.
