Perodua Bezza dominates sales in Sri Lanka as best-selling sub-1.0L sedan

Since it was made available to the Sri Lankan market two years ago, the Perodua Bezza has gone on to become the island nation’s best-selling sub-1.0-litre sedan.

Priced at Rs3.69 million (approx. RM86,200), the Bezza has led the sub-1.0-litre category in terms of new vehicle sales, in the first seven months of 2019. Since its local launch in June 2017, Perodua have sold 1,500 units of the Bezza to date.

A sort of Axia “mini crossover” edition is due to be launched soon.

This makes the Bezza one of the fastest-selling Peroduas in Sri Lanka, together with the Axia where some 3,000 units have been sold since 2015. Sri Lanka is Perodua’s biggest overseas market, where local distributor, Unimo Enterprises, have sold over 15,000 units since 1997.

Perodua President and CEO, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “Perodua will continue to support its overseas distributors as the company looks to expand in the Asia-Pacific region.”

“Buyers love the Perodua Bezza and Axia for their compactness, practicality, quality, reliability, durability and fuel efficiency. Both are also surprisingly roomy for their size,” said Unimo Enterprises, CEO and Executive Director, Mr. Mahesh Gunathilake.

This year, Perodua aims to export 3,270 cars – a considerable 50% increase from last year’s 2,184 units. To date, over 80,000 Perodua vehicles have been sold outside Malaysia.
