Jumping out from the baby Audi Q2 1.4 TFSI, Eu Jin went straight into the four-rings flagship Audi Q8 3.0L V6 TFSI, which was recently launched in Malaysia, for a quick drive. Sharing the same platform and technologies as the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne, the RM727,900 price does sound like a steal.
Motivation comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 pushing 340 hp and 500 Nm of twist paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Drive is transferred to all four wheels via the brands famed Quattro system. Century sprint takes 5.9 seconds and top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Compared to the Q7, the Q8 loses out on two rear seats but gains adaptive air suspension, progressive steering (sharper steering response) and all-wheel steering for the RM128k premium over the seven-seater Q7.
