Monthly sales of the Perodua Aruz have surpassed the Alza

Perodua is off to a good start for the year as the company posted a 7.3% increase in sales for the first two months of 2019. The second national carmaker sold nearly 37,400 vehicles from January to February 2019, up from 34,800 vehicles in the same period last year.

The fourth-generation Myvi continues to be the most popular choice among buyers with around 15,000 units delivered in the first two months of the year, followed by 10,100 Axias and 5,900 Bezzas.

Sales of the new Aruz have also surpassed the Alza with the former recorded 3,600 units vs. 2,700 units for the latter. Perodua has collected over 13,000 bookings to date since the launch of their first seven-seater SUV.

Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Dr Zahari Husin said: “The heightened sales performance is a result of our efforts to further improve our delivery times. We have adjusted our production to reduce the waiting time for the Aruz. This will continue in March as well.”
