Honda Malaysia officially debuted the facelifted Honda HR-V range before the Lunar New Year and today we can already see a number of them running about. Today, the HR-V Hybrid made its first public debut at the company’s Chinese New Year luncheon with the media.
Like the positioning of the Jazz and City Sport Hybrids, the HR-V Hybrid while priced more expensive than the mid-spec HR-V 1.8L V, it wears the same equipment levels as the entry-level HR-V 1.8L E. As it stands, the HR-V 1.5L Hybrid is priced at RM120,800 on-the-road without insurance.

It rides on the same 17-inch dual-tone five-spoke alloy wheel design as before but gets new set of 215/55 profile Continental UltraContact UC6 rubbers.

Unique to the Hybrid variant are the illuminated Power start button, electronic gear selector and Hybrid Multi-Info Display. The MID displays the charge status of the hybrid system and has a blue ring light around the centre dials.
Under the hood, the HR-V Hybrid spots the Sport Hybrid i-DCD system combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine (132 hp/156 Nm) and an electric motor (29.5 hp/160 Nm). Combined output is rated at 152 hp and 190 Nm, driving the front wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
Safety wise, the hybrid-powered HR-V features 6 airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist and Emergency Stop Signal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get the Honda Lane Watch Camera that is exclusive to the HR-V RS.
The Honda HR-V Hybrid is available in four exterior colours – Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Ruse Black Metallic, and White Orchid Pearl (RM300 option) while a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty and 8-Years Unlimited Mileage for the Hybrid Battery Pack is standard with every purchase.
