Here’s some “M Performance inspiration” for when you’re buying a new X5

You’ve seen how the M Performance Kit can improve the aesthetic appeal of the BMW 5-series, now check out this new range of goodies for the new BMW X5 that offers a more striking, dynamic appearance but also serve a functional purpose.

As for the outside of the car, you get the air intake trims made of carbon fibre with a glossy finish on the front bumper and front winglets and the same is applied to the rear diffuser and side mirror covers.

For the first time, BMW is offering all-terrain wheels as part of the M Performance package and these include the 20-inch (style 748 M) Star Spoke M light alloy wheels. As if that wasn’t already an option, there’s also the 22-inch (style 749 M) Start Spoke light alloy wheels that’s four kilograms lighter than your standard X5 wheels.

For those who enjoy the head-banging effect of highly potent brakes, there’s the M Performance 4-pot caliper option in the front, made of aluminium, to go with the perforated M Performance brake discs.

In the cabin, there’s the M Performance steering wheel wrapped in either carbon fibre or Alcantara and finished with a red centre marking and silver-grey cross-stitch. This can be complemented with paddle shifters which are finished in “carbon fabric”.

If you’re a geek for all things driving data, there’s also an M Performance Drive Analyser that offers trip recording on a smartphone video camera, driving data logging and route tracking using GPS.

Other M Performance options include an M Performance key wallet made of Alcantara and even M Performance tyre bags, like the ones offered for the all-new BMW G20 3-series.
