Tiny Vinfast VF3 is an electric urban SUV with Jimny-inspired looks!

Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast shown off its latest VF3 SUV at the ongoing 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the model’s first appearance outside its home country.

The Vinfast VF3 is a fully electric SUV with a rugged-looking exterior, with a geometric blocky design and chunky black plastic bumpers that looks to be somewhat inspired by the Suzuki Jimny. Just like the beloved mini off-roader, the VF3 also only comes with two doors – but the Vinfast is actually even smaller than the Jimny, measuring just 3,114 metres long!

Despite its diminutive size, Vinfast says the VF3 still has ample space for five passengers, thanks to the minimalist design approach and floating dashboard that maximises room on the inside.

Ditto for the cargo area, which can be expanded up to 550 litres of space by folding down the second-row seats. The VF3 is also equipped with modern amenities, including a 10-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Details for the Vinfast VF3’s powertrain has not been revealed yet, but the company does say that it will have “an electric motor and battery”, which means it’ll not be as robust as the Jimny off the beaten path, despite its rugged-looking design.

The Vietnamese carmaker says that the Vinfast VF3 will have over 200 km of range, and will be accessibly priced for the masses as an urban transport solution, in hopes to become “the new national vehicle for the Vietnamese people” – and potentially the smallest and cheapest car on sale in the US.
