Only client racing drivers can have their 488 Pista in this ‘Piloti Ferrari’ spec

In conjunction with the 2018 season of 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari has revealed a unique “Piloti Ferrari” specification for their latest track-focused Ferrari 488 Pista. Keeping the spirit of one of the most challenging endurance race, the “Piloti Ferrari” 488 Pista will only be sold to esteemed clients involved in the Prancing Horse’s motorsports programmes.

Inspired by the AF Corse’s No. 51 race car which won the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Driver’s and Manufacturer’s titles, the 488 Pista will wear the racing livery of the 488 GTE. On the outside you will find the Italian flag livery, the logo of the WEC and the word “Pro” on the hood of the car, indicating the championship and class the car raced in. Each customer’s personal race number will be added to the door panels to indicate their participation in Ferrari’s motorsports programmes.

Other personalised bits include matte black S-Duct, natural carbon-fibre ‘dovetail’ spoilers and carbon fibre vent surrounds. The ‘Piloti Ferrari’ 488 Pista will be offered in four exterior shades: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Argento Nürburgring.

Inside, the car is upholstered with black Alcantara while the colours of the Italian Flag can be found along the seat backrest, paddle shifters and floor mats. The client’s race number found on the outside will also be etched at the base of the steering wheel. All exposed carbon fibre trims will feature a matte finish while an exclusive identification plate completes the interior.

Mechanically, the special edition 488 Pista remains powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 kicking out 720 hp and 770 Nm of twist. Drive is sent exclusively to the rear via a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission. Century sprint takes 2.85 seconds while top speed is registered at over 340 km/h.
