Kia Picanto now the most affordable car with Apple CarPlay thanks to GST rebate

Naza Kia Malaysia (NKM) has announced a GST rebate campaign in light of Pakatan Harapan Government’s decision to reduce Goods and Services Tax (GST) to zero percent.

Effective 18 May to 30 May 2018, the company will honour the lower purchase price with a 6 percent GST reimbursement. Eligible customers will receive instant cash redemption during this interim before the Ministry of Finance (MoF) establishes the new Sales & Services Tax (SST).

Most Kia models (not the entire range, similar to Honda), will see a price reduction of between RM2,000 to RM10,000. The Kia Picanto, the cheapest non-national car now starts from RM47,888 while models like the Sorento HS Diesel and Grand Karnival (EX & KX) gets a rebate of RM10,000. NKM will honour this price list for customers who purchased a new Kia model before 31 May 2018.

NKM is in full support of the new Government’s initiatives and is looking forward to passing on any further benefit(s) that may or may not arise from the new tax structure to its customers. Now that car prices for local and German makes alike have come down a bit, we have broken down whether you should take advantage of this “tax-free holiday” and buy a new car now.
