Video: Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC facelift review

The ferocity of Mercedes-AMG cars has become much more attainable thanks to the entry level 45-series, although its performance is far from entry level. We got our hands on the most practical 45-series model, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC facelift and understood why anyone would want a high-performance compact crossover, at all.

Powered by the world’s most powerful series production four-cylinder engine, the M133 2.0-litre turbo gives the GLA 45 375 hp and 475 Nm of torque, sending drive to all four wheels through a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission. With Race Start (launch control) activated, the car will sprint to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds onwards to a top speed of 250 km/h.

Fully imported from Germany, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) is asking for RM408,888 a pop. If you’re concerned that this is an “old model”, keep in mind that the new-generation GLA is still some time away and not to forget Mercedes-AMG would require time to apply their magic touch.
