Bentley Kuala Lumpur has just unveiled, in the presence of the media and its exclusive group of current Bentley owners in Malaysia, the third generation Continental GT – one that redefines the benchmark of luxury grand touring as an extraordinary statement of luxury, performance and technology.
At the heart of the new Continental GT is an all-new 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 TSi engine, mated for the first time to a dual-clutch 8-speed transmission.
There are four driving modes available – Comfort, Sport, the “Bentley Mode” that strikes a balance between Sport and Comfort, and a Custom mode.
Output is rated at 635 hp with a highly disturbing 900 Nm of torque – undoubtedly sufficient to power all four wheels (AWD) of the 2,244 kg vehicle made up with the combination of steel and aluminium. 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds, onwards to a top speed of 333 km/h.
On the outside, the new Continental GT features full LED matrix headlamps and tail lights along with 21-inch wheels in the front and 22-inch pair at the back.
Underneath those exquisite wheels, hides 10-pot brake callipers in the front and four-pot callipers at the back. The body sits on a 48-volt Dynamic Ride System with active continuous damping, supplemented by active anti-roll bars. There are a total of 17 exterior colours, with other wide range of bespoke colours.
On the inside, there are 15 standard interior themes available to go with an exquisite cabin made up of a 10-speaker sound system with an option for a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen system or an exclusive 18-speaker Naim sound system.
Other interior highlights include a brand new 12.3-inch central touchscreen system, Apple CarPlay compatibility, a 4G telephone system and 60 GB SSD hard drive.
The host of driver assistance systems available in the new Bentley Continental GT include a head-up display, Night Vision, Lane Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Pricing of the all-new Bentley Continental GT is estimated to be at RM1.9 million before options.
