Jaguar I-Pace rapid charging, 80% charge in 45 minutes, Geneva debut

Jaguar’s all-electric I-Pace SUV is set to make its public debut at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show on 6 March 2018. Prior to its official debut, the British carmaker has unveiled some key performance figures that we could all get excited about.

Range anxiety is the biggest concern for any electric car ownership and to give owners assurance that they will be able to use the I-Pace as an everyday car, Jaguar has fitted the SUV with rapid charging that is capable of giving the battery 80 percent juice in just 45 minutes from empty when plugged into a DC 100kW charging port.

Jaguar Vehicle Line Director, Ian Hoban said: “Not only will the I-PACE charge quickly enough for our customers to carry out their everyday lives, it will offer powerful and precise performance in a variety of conditions and climatic extremes. Allied with the versatile credentials of our celebrated PACE family, this will be an electric performance SUV like no other.”

Recently, the company has subjected the dual-motor, all-wheel drive SUV to sub-zero conditions in Arjeplog, Sweden. Despite at temperatures as low as -40 degrees, the I-Pace performed without a hitch. Thanks to the AWD capabilities, the I-Pace was able to confidently deploy all its 395 hp and 700 Nm of torque onto the icy terrain.
