Honda Malaysia sold 109,511 cars in 2017, highest number in history!

In 2017, Honda Malaysia celebrated a number of milestones – delivering the 250,000th Honda City, producing the 600,000th CKD car (which happens to be the City) and welcoming Mr. Toichi Ishiyama as their new Managing Director and CEO. We also witness the launch of the Jazz and City Sport Hybrid, all-new CR-V and the FK8R Civic Type-R.

It was a busy year for the folks at Honda Malaysia, but all its efforts did not go to waste when they achieved record-breaking sales for 2017, shifting a total of 109,511 units of cars – highest in the history of Honda Malaysia.

The record-breaking sales is an increase of 19 percent compared to 2016 and its overall sales figure is also the highest a Non-National brand has ever achieved in Malaysia. At the end of 2017, Honda Malaysia’s market share stands at 19 percent, up 3.2 percent compared to the previous year. The company also maintains their No. 1 position for Non-National segment and No. 2 position in overall TIV of the automotive industry.

Commenting on the outstanding result, Honda Malaysia MD and CEO, Mr. Toichi Ishiyama said, “On behalf of Honda Malaysia, I would like to extend our sincerest appreciation and thankfulness to all Honda Malaysia customers for their faith and belief in our brand and for making Honda their vehicle of choice. This achievement would not have been possible without our valued customers as well as strong support from our business partners and the Malaysian government.”
