Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has unveiled a limited edition ASX Adventure to spice up the ageing compact crossover. Only 60 units of the ASX Adventure will be made and comes in a single 2.0-litre two-wheel drive variant. For a RM5,000 premium over the standard ASX 2WD, the ASX Adventure gets aesthetic enhancements inside and out.
Finished in Sporty Blue, the ASX Adventure gets a new front grille design as well as additional mouldings around the wheel arches and side sills. It rides on upsized 18-inch multi-spoke alloys wrapped in 225/65 profile tyres. Other parts of the exterior remain unchanged.
Inside, new items include blue upholstery stitching with ASX embroidery, blue trim accents on the door panels, silver air-con housings and aluminium sports pedals. Standard equipment dittos the standard 2WD variant – keyless entry, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera and Multi-Information Display (MID).
Under the bonnet, you will find the same 2.0-litre MIVEC four-cylinder petrol engine producing 148 hp and 198 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) driving the front wheels. Safety wise, it retains the three airbags, ABS with BA, EBD and front parking sensors combination. Traction Control and Active Stability Control remains missing from the equipment list.
The ASX Adventure is priced at RM123,998 on-the-road without insurance and can be ordered from MMM dealerships nationwide.
