At the 2017 Malaysia Autoshow, Naza Kia Malaysia (NKM) has displayed the hottest Kia ever made, the Kia Stinger GT. The company did not reveal when the sleek Grand Tourer will be officially launched nor pricing details, but it is safe to assume that next year will the earliest we will see them with number plates.
The preview unit here is finished in the launch colour, HiChro Red. It wears the highest specification as denoted by the full LED headlamps, black wing mirror, Brembo brakes, 19-inch multi-spoke alloys and quad exhaust pipes. Curiously, NKM has previewed the AWD variant as told by the sole “AWD” badge at the rear.
Finished in its highest specification, naturally, it gets powered by the most potent mill available, the 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 pushing out 365 hp and 510 Nm. Sprint time on the AWD variant remains unknown, but the rear-wheel drive 3.3-litre V6 turbo gets to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Transmission of choice is an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Other markets get the option for a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo T-GDI that outputs 244 hp and 353 Nm as well as a 2.2-litre turbodiesel CRDi with 197 hp and 440 Nm of torque. Both are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Like most preview units, the interior is off-limits to the public. Internationally, the Stinger GT is equipped with 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, 360-degree surround view camera, Nappa leather upholstery and many more premium features.
In the UK, the Stinger GT is priced between £31,995 (RM180k) to £40,495 (RM228k). How much would you pay for one of these beauties here in Malaysia?
