Mitsubishi’s new e-Evolution Concept will teach you to be a better driver

Having provided us with a teaser just last month, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has announced that it would debut the new Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept which will showcase the brand’s EV strengths and renowned all-wheel drive SUV expertise with the addition of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Utilising high-performance electric motors with high torque output, powered by high-capacity batteries, the e-Evolution Concept promises smooth and responsive power delivery that will distinguish itself from conventional petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. Its triple motor 4WD system employs a single motor to drive the front wheels and a new Dual Motor AYC (Active Yaw Control) system to couple the two rear motors through an electronically controlled torque-vectoring Active Yaw Control unit.

The brain of the e-Evolution is an AI system that uses sensors to instantly read changes in road traffic conditions as well as the driver’s behaviour behind the wheel. With this, it seamlessly coordinates the vehicle’s performance with the driver’s intent – making the vehicle easier and safer to control.

This is the coolest bit – the AI system also comes with a “coaching function” to help improve and enhance the driver’s expertise without being obtrusive. After understanding the driver’s skill level, the system comes up with a “training program” that will coach the driver through voice dialogues and a large dashboard display.
