Volvo V40 gets a facelift, receives Thor’s Hammer makeover!

Volvo’s current best-selling model in Europe, the V40 hatchback, receives a new look and some interior tweaks. Volvo’s current second biggest seller is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

The facelifted V40 is in line with the design language from Volvo’s latest foray of products such as the XC90, S90, and V90. The V40 receives a new grille with a larger Volvo “Iron Mark” badge and the signature “Thor Hammer” LED headlights as part of its aesthetic improvements. The Cross Country model retains the black plastic cladding along the bottom edges and a taller vehicle height.Volvo V40 T4 Momentum Location Profile

Inside, the new V40 gets updated Volvo’s OnCall technology, this time the system adds Microsoft Band 2 connectivity, allowing Windows 10 phones to be integrated with the car. Also notable is a new “City Weave” upholstery with new additional panel trims for the dashboard and door trims. The V40 also receives five new colours with four shades of blue: Mussel Blue, Bursting Blue, Amazon Blue, Denim Blue, and the Luminous Sand.

The powertrains for the V40 remained status quo, with a choice of diesel and petrol engines available. Also included is a new improved radar sensor that’s utilised by Volvo’s automatic braking system and adaptive cruise control.
