Ford Ranger leads Malaysian sales in July with 699 units shifted

Ford has had an interesting start to the second half of the fiscal year with encouraging sales figures and market demand for its local offerings. As the heading suggests, the Ranger pick-up truck is at the fore and leading the charge.

Managing Director of Ford Malaysia, David Western said, “We’re pleased that more and more Malaysians are being attracted by our class-leading Ranger.” Strong demand has been recorded for the Ranger with 699 units shifted, while year-to-date sales of the Ranger have jumped 22 percent to 5,520 units.

That being said, the Fiesta and EcoSport denominations have been performing comparatively well in terms of sales figures for the month ending July. Sales of the Fiesta model has risen up to 12 percent over the previous month to 119 units. Demand for the Fiesta is driven by both its 1.5-litre Ti-VCT and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost variants.2015-Ford-Fiesta-01

The EcoSport however has been picking up sales traction in July with over 100 units flying of the shelf at local Ford dealerships. Speaking of dealerships, Ford has plans in the works to invigorate and bolster the appeal of its showrooms toward aspiring potential owners and exciting upcoming models such as the iconic Mustang.
