Honda Malaysia today announced a precautionary recall for another 46,710 units of Honda vehicles in sold in Malaysia.
This extension involves a total of 26,186 units whose recall is likely to linked to the Takata airbag inflator issue which has affected an estimated 53 million vehicles worldwide making it the biggest recall ever.
The Malaysian recall by Honda consists of the City (2008-2009 manufactured year), Civic (2007-2009), CR-V (2007-2008) and Jazz (2007 & 2009) for the front passenger airbag inflator. And 20,524 units of the Honda Accord (manufactured from 2003–2007) which are affected by the driver front airbag inflator.

Honda is taking the proactive precautionary measure which is in place to swap over the airbag inflator module for a newly made part to combat the issue. The cost of the replacement will be borne by Honda Malaysia once the parts supply is ready.
