Hyundai Sonata and Genesis win distinguished 2014 Good Design Awards



Christmas came early for the folks at Hyundai, because two of their cars – the Sonata and Genesis – have earned the GOOD DESIGN Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

GOOD DESIGN is the world’s oldest and most prestigious architecture and design awards organised throughout the globe and emphasises highly on contemporary design. Held annually, it honours the year’s best industrial and graphic designers as well as world manufacturers for their extraordinary design excellence.

“By earning the GOOD DESIGN awards for the all-new Genesis and Sonata from the most longstanding and respected organisation in the architecture and design industry is proof of Hyundai’s commitment to developing products that embody anything but ordinary design,” said Chris Chapman, chief designer at the Hyundai Design Center.

The event was held at Chicago and judged by an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts and cultural leaders. The winners are selected based on its overall design quality, function and aesthetics.
