At the 2017 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, Kia Motors America (KMA) unveiled two (tastefully) modified Stinger GT – the Stinger GT Wide Body and Stinger GT Federation. Both features custom-made accessories and parts to transform Kia’s first performance vehicle to a show stopper.
Now, wide-body conversions are not Kia’s forte, therefore the company reached out to custom vehicles specialist, West Coast Customs for their expertise. Finished in a custom Pearl Blue Metallic paint job, the Stinger GT Wide Body wears a lightweight carbon fibre aero kit and rear diffuser for greater high-speed stability. Shouty items include the quad-port exhaust tips and 21-inch Keen forged alloy wheels complemented by a lowered suspension (-35 mm front; -30 mm rear). Naturally, it gets flared rear arches for that wide-body look.
Inside, the Stinger GT Wide Body gets a custom blue leather seat piping, grey leather dash panel, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and a gloss black centre console trim. All bespoke items.
Over to the Stinger GT Federation, its KMA’s own effort in adding tasteful aftermarket accessories for increased performance and visual impact. Exterior body kit comes courtesy of Air Design USA that includes the rear spoiler, rear diffuser and hood vents; complementing the custom Creamy Orange paint scheme. It rides on 20-inch TSW alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance Falken tyres.
The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 now spots a K&N cold-air intake and low-restriction quad-tipped Borla exhaust, allowing the V6 to breathe more freely, taking the power output by 15 hp to 380 hp. The Stinger GT Federation also gets Eibach springs, thicker antiroll bars and lowered ride height for a sportier driving experience.
The Kia Stinger GT is now on sale in the UK for £31,995 (RM180k) to £40,495 (RM228k). We’ve got a feeling that we should be expecting this fine looking machine to arrive on Malaysian soil sometime soon…
