Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has been named the Official Automotive Partner of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026, which will take place from 3 to 9 August at the Esplanade, KLCC Park. As part of the partnership, the company will also publicly preview the upcoming Omoda C7 and C7 PHEV at the event ahead of their official Malaysian launch.
While the Omoda C7 was previously shown at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 in left-hand-drive (LHD) form, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026 will mark its first public appearance in right-hand-drive (RHD) guise.
Essentially a close relative of the Jaecoo J7, the Omoda C7 shares almost identical dimensions with its sibling. That places it between the Chery O5 and the larger Omoda C9 in the brand’s SUV lineup.
The Omoda C7 adopts the brand’s latest “Art in Motion” design language, highlighted by a shark-nose front fascia, sleek LED lighting, and a body-coloured parametric grille. An illuminated hexagonal lighting signature adds to its futuristic look, while 20-inch turbine-style alloy wheels complete the exterior.
Inside, the Omoda C7 comes equipped with a 15.6-inch infotainment display that can slide over to the passenger side (for when your passenger wants to play rally co-driver). It is also paired with a 50W wireless smartphone charger.
Beyond that, Omoda Jaecoo has yet to announce many other details. However, based on the preview unit we saw a few weeks ago, the SUV also features a slim letterbox-style digital instrument cluster, an array of physical buttons and toggle switches on the centre console, a head-up display, a Sony sound system, and ambient interior lighting.
Omoda Jaecoo says the Omoda C7 will be offered in two powertrains: a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
The company has yet to disclose specific figures for the powertrains, but they’re expected to closely mirror those of the Jaecoo J7. For reference, the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine in the pure internal combustion engine (ICE) J7 produces 197 hp and 290 Nm, and is offered in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.

Meanwhile, the J7 PHEV combines its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and DHT for a total system output of 360 hp and 530 Nm of torque. It is also equipped with an 18.3-kWh BYD Blade LFP battery, providing up to 95 km of pure electric range and a claimed combined driving range of 1,250 km.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia Marketing Director, Jackie Chua said, “Omoda vehicles have always stood apart through futuristic design, performance and technology-forward appeal that resonates with today’s modern consumers. Our partnership with Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026 reflects our commitment to innovation, creativity and contemporary lifestyle.”

“Being named the Official Automotive Partner of Malaysia’s premier fashion event places the brand proudly at the intersection of automotive innovation and high fashion, further reinforcing the premium positioning and growing desirability of the Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles,” she added.
Complementing the vehicle showcase, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia will also unveil a special collaboration with BEHATI, a contemporary Malaysian fashion label renowned for blending traditional Malaysian cultural attire with modern, avant-garde streetwear style.
