Lexus Malaysia has launched the new Lexus LX, with three variants of the luxury off-roader available, priced from RM1,540,000, on-the-road, without insurance.

Built on the GA-F platform, the Lexus LX is related to the Lexus GX and the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series. The Lexus LX dimensions come in at 5,100 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,895 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, which makes it larger than the GX, and positions the LX as Lexus’s flagship SUV in Malaysia.

The Lexus LX 700h is available in three interior configurations. As standard, the SUV is offered as a seven-seater in a 2+3+2 configuration. The F Sport variant is configured as a five-seater, whereas the range-topping VIP variant is configured as a four-seater, featuring two captain chairs in the second row. Similar to the Lexus LS, the passenger seated diagonally from the driver benefits the most. This seat offers a maximum legroom of 1,000 mm and a footrest, made possible by the extended recline of the front passenger seat.

Under the bonnet, the Lexus LX 700h is powered by an electrified 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 engine producing 415 hp/650 Nm, paired with a traction motor that contributes 49 hp (36 kW) and 250 Nm. This setup delivers a combined output of 464 hp, which is channelled to a full-time four-wheel drive setup via a 10-speed automatic gearbox, which enables 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
Sharing its off-road DNA with its cousins, the Lexus LX features an updated Multi-Terrain Select system and Active Height Control, allowing the LX 700h to tackle various terrains while maintaining a 700 mm wading depth. This chassis setup is complemented by a new electric power steering (EPS) system, replacing the old hydraulic unit. It is designed to deliver a better driving sensation across all conditions.
Depending on the variant, the suspension of the LX 700h is tuned differently. Lexus says the Urban variant is equipped with a standard tune, while the F Sport features a sport-calibrated suspension for sharper steering and a more dynamic driving experience. The LX 700h VIP variant is equipped with a suspension tuned for ‘supreme comfort’ for its four occupants.

The F Sport and VIP variants step away from this palette, offering their own highly specialised, trim-exclusive exterior colours and tailored cabin configurations instead.
