At the public preview of the new Tesla Model Y L, Tesla Malaysia announced that owners can now enjoy cross-country service, charging, and connectivity across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. According to Tesla’s Regional Director, Isabel Fan, this applies to eligible Tesla vehicles registered within these three nations.
This enables owners access to the Tesla’s regional infrastructure, including nine service centres and express facilities, seamless roaming and map services, and a network of 75 Supercharging stations with a total of 370 individual stalls.
Isabel added that the regional footprint is set to expand further with eight additional Supercharging stations and five destination charging sites. Locally, Malaysia is slated to receive new Supercharging locations across Johor, Penang, Selangor, and Perak, alongside two new destination charging stations in Selangor and Penang.
Coinciding with the network expansion is the Model Y L itself. It features a wheelbase extended by 150 mm and a roofline that is 44 mm taller than the Model Y, allowing for a 2+2+2 seating configuration with individual chairs in the second row and a two-seater bench in the third row.

While Tesla remains mute on battery size, it claims the Model Y L has a range of 681 km (WLTP), 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.0 seconds, and a 201 km/h top speed. The company also claims the SUV can regain 288 km of range in 15 minutes using the Supercharger network.
Indicative pricing starts at RM260,000, with local deliveries estimated to begin in Q2 2026. The online configurator for the Tesla Model Y L is expected to go live in the immediate future, allowing interested customers to finalise their specifications and place their orders.
