Zeekr Malaysia to launch 3 new models in 2026, including flagship Zeekr 9X, Zeekr X facelift

Following a successful 2025, where it delivered 2,560 cars to new owners in its first full year of sales, Zeekr Malaysia has announced that it will be introducing three new models in 2026.

The company did not reveal the specific models, but the silhouettes on the presentation leave little to the imagination. Among these, the main headline is of course the Zeekr 9X, which is slated for a local debut sometime in late 2026 or early 2027.

The brand’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, packing 1,381 hp in its most powerful variant, is estimated to carry a price tag of around RM700,000 to RM1 million when it arrives here, according to Zeekr Malaysia General Manager, Eddy Lu.

As for the other two cars, we’ll be seeing a “Compact Premium SUV refresh”, pointing towards the Zeekr X facelift which made its debut in China back in November 2025. The update carries over the familiar exterior styling of the crossover, but gains more luxury equipment such as the powered doors, which mirrors the setup on the Zeekr 7X.

The main upgrade revolves around the powertrain, where the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant now gains a more powerful rear motor, making 334 hp (250 kW), up from the 272 hp (200 kW) unit in the pre-facelift model.

Thanks to the beefier rear motor, the all-wheel drive (AWD) variant of the Zeekr X also now makes a combined 496 hp (365 kW), a healthy increase of 68 hp over the outgoing AWD variant. This enables a 0-100 km/h time for the AWD variant of 3.7 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than the pre-facelift car, despite an unchanged top speed of 190 km/h for both variants.

As for the third mysterious model, “Luxury Redefined” could point towards a new variant of the Zeekr 009, potentially even the introduction of the even posher Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition. In China, this variant takes things to an almost excessive level of excess, featuring 24k gold-plated hubcaps and hand-polished gold trim throughout the cabin.

And instead of six seats, you’ll find space for only four – with two ultra-luxurious captain chairs in the rear passenger quarters. Even its powertrain is nigh excessive too, boasting 788 hp (580 kW) and 810 Nm from its twin-motor AWD setup, allowing the MPV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Alongside the new models, Zeekr Malaysia has also committed to significantly expanding its sales and aftersales locations from seven outlets currently, up to 18 nationwide in 2026. The move is in support of its wider goals to sell a cumulative 10,000 units by 2027, with that figure set to double to 20,000 just a year later in 2028.

The company also officially confirmed that it will begin local assembly (CKD) of its models here. This milestone makes Malaysia the first country outside of China to locally assemble Zeekr vehicles, with the Zeekr 7X earmarked as the first CKD model.
