2025 GWM Ora Good Cat GT open for booking from RM125k, standard model from RM115k

GWM Malaysia announced that the new GWM Ora Good Cat and the Ora Good Cat GT are now open for booking. The standard model has an estimated price of below RM115,000, while the sportier GT variant is priced below RM125,000.

The company stated that the new Ora Good Cat will feature “refreshed styling and comfort upgrades.” This suggests that the new Ora Good Cat will adopt the same design as the facelift model introduced in China, with some nip and tuck on the front bumper.

While the facelifted model in China receives a larger 14.6-inch infotainment screen on higher variants, GWM Malaysia has confirmed the local model will carry over the existing 10.25-inch display. Furthermore, visuals of the car suggest it will retain the same exterior design as the outgoing model, unlike its Chinese counterpart, which features a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels.

The new model will be fitted with a 57.7 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a range of up to 480 km (NEDC). This new battery pack positions the car between the two current variants: it is larger than the 47.8 kWh unit in the 400 Pro (400 km range) but smaller than the 63.1 kWh battery in the 500 Pro (500 km range).

GWM Ora Good Cat facelift in China

Powertrain specifications remain the same, with the car driven by a single front-mounted motor producing 143 hp and 210 Nm. Charging is supported via 6.6 kW AC or 60 kW DC fast charging; the latter can recharge the battery from 30- 80% in 38 minutes.

The GWM Ora Good Cat GT features a sportier exterior design, distinguished by several exclusive elements: a dual-tone paint scheme, yellow brake callipers, a GT rear spoiler, and unique two-tone alloy wheels. The sporty theme continues inside, where the GT variant gets exclusive sports seats with yellow stitching and suede upholstery, in contrast to the leatherette found in the standard model.

On the powertrain front, the GT gains a more powerful front-mounted motor producing 171 hp and 250 Nm—an increase of 28 hp and 40 Nm over the standard model.

The GT model uses the same 57.7 kWh LFP battery as the standard variant, but its range is rated at a slightly lower 460 km (NEDC), according to GWM Malaysia. This represents a 20 km decrease in range compared to the standard model, likely due to the more powerful motor.

Both GWM Ora Good Cat variants will be equipped with a 360-degree camera and a comprehensive suite of ADAS features. This includes adaptive cruise control with intelligent turning, traffic jam assist, and front collision warning, as well as lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and lane centring assist. The GT variant adds Launch Control to this list.
