The Tesla Model 3 in Malaysia has been given a refresh in Malaysia for 2025, that brought along several updates, including a new variant — the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD). Offering the longest range ever on a Model 3, the new variant now expands the lineup to four, joining the existing (standard range) RWD, Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Performance AWD.
The new Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD variant is priced from RM185,000. With the latest price revisions, the Model 3 RWD now starts at RM169,000 (down from RM181,000), the Long Range AWD at RM199,000 (previously RM210,000), and the Performance AWD at RM229,000 (previously RM242,000). All prices are on-the-road, without insurance.
As its name suggests, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD now boasts the longest range of the variant lineup at 750 km (WLTP), compared to the Long Range AWD at 660 km (previously 629 km), the Performance AWD at 571 km (previously 528 km), and the RWD at 520 km (previously 513 km).
The Model 3 Long Range RWD is also more powerful than the standard RWD, cutting the 0–100 km/h sprint to 5.2 seconds from 6.1 seconds.

As per usual, Tesla does not reveal its detailed specifications, but the car should match up with the Model 3+ in China, which launched roughly two months ago. Based on local media reports there, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD should boast an output of 306 hp (225 kW) with a top speed of 200 km/h. Power is sourced from a 78.4 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery with support for 250 kW of DC charging that can add 311km of range in 15 minutes.
Along with the model update, it appears that all Model 3 cars in Malaysia, regardless of the variant, will now see the return of a column-mounted turn signal stalk. This follows the same update in China roughly two months ago — which saw the company reintroducing the all-important turn signal stalk after overwhelming frustrations from customers there.

Other notable changes include a new blacked-out Tesla logo, and a front-mounted Tesla Vision camera on the bumper that should help with object detection, given that the company controversially removed its ultrasonic sensors both in front and at the back.
The Model 3 also comes standard with 18-inch Photon wheels, with the option to upgrade to 19-inch Nova wheels for an additional RM7,500. Available colours include the Stealth Grey as standard, while Diamond Black, Deep Blue Metallic, and now Pearl White are available for RM5,000. More premium finishes, such as Quicksilver and Ultra Red, are priced at RM11,000 each.
