Proton has delivered 999 units of the all-new Proton X50 in just five working days since its official launch on 24 July 2025, according to a press release from the national brand.
Prior to its official launch, Proton had already received 5,000 pre-launch bookings for the X50. Since then, the company has cumulatively received over 8,000 bookings for its B-segment SUV.
To meet this strong demand, Proton has stated that 2,000 units of the all-new Proton X50 had already rolled off the production line by the end of July 2025.
“We [are] also committed to build up our stock levels prior to the launch, which is why we have managed to deliver 999 units to our early bird customers just five working days later… we have planned to keep production levels high to ensure the waiting time for customers is kept to a minimum,” said Proton Edar Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Zhang Qiang.

Available in three variants, priced from RM89,800, the Proton X50 is now RM3,500 cheaper for the Executive variant, whereas the Premium and Flagship variants retain the pricing of the outgoing model. That said, since the Standard variant is no longer available, the entry point to the model is now RM3,500 higher than before.
- Proton X50 Executive – RM89,800
- Proton X50 Premium – RM101,800
- Proton X50 Flagship – RM113,300
It shares its exterior design with its cousin, the Geely Binyue L, a model that was launched as a facelift in China last year. Despite this, Proton is marketing the new X50 as an “all-new” model, stating that sufficient changes have been made to justify the title.
The biggest change here is the new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine across all variants that makes 181 hp and 290 Nm of torque, replacing the three-pot engine found in the outgoing model. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) sending power to the front wheels, the new X50 completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.6 seconds—a 0.3-second improvement over the outgoing flagship model.

Aside from a new powertrain, the interior of the Proton X50 is also reworked. It now features a central 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Bahasa Melayu voice recognition support. For the driver, they also get a new 8.88-inch letterbox-style digital instrument cluster.
In conjunction with the Proton X50 launch, the national brand has three special launch packages for the SUV, which include a trade-in overtrade support up to RM2,000 for the first 10,000 customers, special financing packages, an upgraded Proton insurance programme, and a RM4,000 rebate.
