Leica Camera Malaysia, in collaboration with automotive livery design house Motorsport Playground, has launched the Leica Sofort 2 Sketch Flex Edition — a limited-edition instant camera designed by local artist Remus Chang Supremus, founder and creative director of Motorsport Playground.
The Leica Sofort 2 is a hybrid instant camera that, according to Leica, “offers the best of both worlds — preserving tactile memories while enabling creativity on the go”. Upon taking a picture, the camera can print and/or digitally share the images instantly. This Sketch Flex Edition that you’re seeing here will be limited to only 100 units nationwide — 50 in red and 50 in white.
Known as “Supremus”, Remus Chang spent over 20 years turning cars into rolling works of art and is renowned for combining sneaker culture with automotive art. Over the years, Change crafted vehicles for streetwear icons like A Bathing Ape and Evisu, with his work featured on race cars competing worldwide. Notably, Chang has also worked with movie stars, F1 drivers, and even royalty.
Speaking about Leica cameras and his passion for cars, Chang said, “Leicas are like Porsches. They are precise, sleek, reliable, and made in Germany.”

If you’ve read this far, you’re probably a camera nerd, and want to know more about the camera – so here. The Leica Sofort 2 features a 4.9 megapixel CMOS sensor that takes images in QHD resolution (2560 x 1920 pixels). The camera comes with a fixed Leica Summar lens with a focal length of 1:2/2,4mm (corresponds to approx. 28mm on a 35mm film camera) and a minimum aperture of F2.
At the back, the camera is built with a non-articulating three-inch TFT LCD display. It takes in Leica’s proprietary films for the Sofort that comes in three variants: Warm White, Neo Gold, and Warm White. Built into the camera are 10 Film Styles (Normal, Vivid, Pale, Canvas, Monochrome, Sepia, Yellow, Red, Blue, Retro), along with 10 Lens Effects (Normal, Vignette, Soft Focus, Blur, Fisheye, Color Shift, Light Leak, Mirror, Double Exposure, Half-Frame).
Don’t want physical prints? The camera has Bluetooth 4.2 and a USB-C port, making it easy to transfer your photos to your smart devices.
If you are interested in the Leica Sofort 2, the standard variant can be had from RM2,100 via the Leica Malaysia website. Prefer the more stylish Sketch Flex Edition? That one retails for a slightly higher RM2,800 – but a small price to pay for a piece of art.
