Jetour has revealed the G700 off-road SUV at the Auto Shanghai 2025. The luxury off-roader is said to go on sale in the Chinese market later this year. With Jetour’s presence in Malaysia, it’s not far-fetched to hope for its arrival here.
The G700 is built on the company’s new Gimbal Off-road Chassis (GAIA) platform that can accommodate various powertrains. First is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and two electric motors, paired with the world’s first 2-speed DHT hybrid transmission.

Together the powertrain produces a mouth-watering 760 hp and 795 Nm of torque. For perspective, a Mercedes-AMG G63 produces 585 hp and 850 Nm but with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

Not much is known about battery capacity but we know that the PHEV is built on an 800-volt architecture. Charging it from 20%-80% state-of-charge is said to take just 10 minutes.

Like the G63, it also emphasises on off-road capabilities. It has a wading depth of 900 mm, comparable to Land Rover and Range Rovers. It even surpasses most wading depths of pick-up trucks. The G63 AMG can only do around 700 mm.

Performance aside, the Jetour G700 can be fuel efficient too, capable of offering up to 1,400 to 1,500 km of range. It’s said to also offer a pure electric range of around 150 km, according to reports.

The other powertrain is a range extender that uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine to charge the battery that powers four electric motors. Each electric motor makes 408 hp. Like the PHEV, the range extender also shares the same 800-volt architecture.
The G700 measures around 5.1 metres long and befitting its muscular exterior, G700 is said to be capable of towing up to 3,500 kg. True to its off-road nature, ride height can be adjusted up to 150 mm, with a maximum ground clearance of 350 mm.

It’s fitted with active suspension for ‘zero roll’ (when cornering) and ‘zero pitch’ (during braking), according to the company. Other standout features include rear-wheel steering and ‘crab mode’ to maneuver through tight spaces.
Inside the G700 is a six-seater with a 2+2+2 configuration. Visible was a Lexicon sound system, a large infotainment screen, tray tables, footrests, and reclinable third-row seats.
Aside from what is shown, we can’t confirm the trims and other features on the Jetour G700 just yet as the car you see here is still in the pre-production stage. It has also been customised for the event to show off the SUV’s versatility. The G700 will be the first among the Jetour models to go into production. Prices are indicated to start from 400,000 yuan (approx. RM240k) to 1.5 million yuan (approx. RM900k).
