BMW 3 Series updated for 2025 in Malaysia – no more 330e M Sport, now from RM273k

For BMW Malaysia’s 2025 new year’s resolution, the G20 BMW 3 Series is getting a range of mild upgrades to enhance the range’s sporty hallmark, with changes across the board including the 320i M Sport, 330i M Sport, 330Li M Sport, and M340i xDrive M Sport Pro. The BMW 330e M Sport appears to be dropped as part of the latest update.

Changes on the exterior are minor, with updates here only in the form of two new metallic colours: Fire Red metallic and Arctic Race Blue metallic.

The main differences are on the inside. The driver’s seat is treated to a new M Sport steering wheel with a 12 o’clock strap as standard across the range, adding to the sporty look and feel. Additionally, the new BMW 3 Series range has a new geometrical centre air vent, which includes new joystick-style air vent controls, and a cascading waterfall-style ambient light strip.

There’s also a new dashboard topper across the range with a finer grain design, and the 330 Li also gets a new geometrical surface decor trim on the dashboard and door cards.

The infotainment system is also now upgraded to the latest BMW Operating System 8.5. The QuickSelect touch-oriented menu is optimised for the BMW Curved Display thanks to its simple layout, while other digital enhancements such as Video Augmented Reality (AR) features for the camera, as well as ultrasound-based Parking Assistant help make daily driving less grating.

Additionally, the BMW iDrive Intelligent Personal Assistant also has improved speed recognition.

Power-wise, the engine remains the same as before. The new BMW 3 Series still has the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque in the 320i M Sport, and 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque for the 330i M Sport and 330Li M Sport. Meanwhile, the M340i xDrive M Sport Pro retains its 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engine that puts down 397 hp and 500 Nm of torque to all four wheels.

All models of the new BMW 3 Series come with the eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox like before. The new BMW 3 Series also receives enhanced suspension adaptation for improved ride quality on bumpier roads.

When it comes to pricing, the 320i M Sport starts at RM272,800, 330i M Sport at RM308,800, 330Li M Sport at RM314,800, and M340i xDrive M Sport Pro at RM385,800. A two-year warranty is also attached as standard.

When opting for the five-year warranty and free service via the extended warranty and service package, the numbers jump up to the 320i M Sport priced at RM299,200, 330i M Sport at RM335,200, 330Li M Sport at RM341,200, and M340i xDrive M Sport Pro at RM412,200, making them RM7,200 more expensive across the board.
