The Honda Civic just got a makeover – here are 4 new updates you should know about

One of Malaysia’s most popular cars has just received a fresh makeover and it’s the Honda Civic. As a facelift, it brings new features and upgrades to the Civic, but what exactly are they? Here are four new upgrades you’ll be getting on the new 2025 Honda Civic facelift!

Your wish is its command: The Honda Civic now has a personal assistant!

Remember those fancy infotainment systems in Volvos and Mercedes-Benz that let you control certain features with voice commands? Well, the Honda Civic has joined the party! With its new Google built-in infotainment system, you can access Google Maps, Google Play Store, and even Google Assistant.

Just say “Hello Google” to activate the Assistant and control various functions, including setting your navigation destination—no more fumbling with the touchscreen or your phone while driving!

Channel your inner Type R with the new individual driving mode

The pre-facelift Honda Civic RS e:HEV had three driving modes: ECON, Normal, and Sport. But the facelift throws in a new mode called “Individual”, which lets you tweak a bunch of settings like engine response, steering feel, engine sound, and even how the gauge cluster looks.

With the ability to fine tune each setting individually, the Individual drive mode really lets you personalise your drive to just how you like it to be. It’s kind of like what you get in the Civic Type R, but – of course – with fewer things to fiddle with.

Honda Sensing: Your co-pilot just got an upgrade

The 2025 Honda Civic facelift comes standard with Honda Sensing, a suite of advanced safety tech that helps you avoid accidents and make driving more convenient. It includes features like adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, which automatically keeps a safe distance from the car in front, even in traffic jams.

The 2025 facelift update brings some cool upgrades to the system, like being able to detect motorcycles and bicycles when you’re turning right at intersections. It can even spot those pesky drivers who enter intersections without signaling!

Sharp drive, sharper looks!

You could say the star of the show for the Honda Civic facelift is its new look. The front bumper has been redesigned with sharper edges, giving the Civic a sportier and more aggressive vibe, kind of like the Type R. The facelift also gets new 18-inch alloy wheels on the e:HEV RS variant, which look way sportier than the old two-tone design.

The Honda Civic facelift is launched in four variants: E, V, RS and e:HEV RS. Prices for the new facelift Honda Civic starts at RM133,900 on-the-road without insurance for the base E variant, to RM167,900 for the e:HEV RS variant.

  • Honda Civic E – RM133,900
  • Honda Civic V – RM144,900
  • Honda Civic RS – RM149,900
  • Honda Civic RS e:HEV – RM167,900
