Chery Malaysia rewards Aaron Chia, Soh Wooi Yik, and Lee Zii Jia with Tiggo 7 Pro

It’s an auspicious and exciting day for the Malaysian Olympic contingent as they receive the keys to their brand-new cars courtesy of Chery Malaysia. Held at Chery Showroom in Bukit Puchong, the event was graced by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ms. Hannah Yeoh.

Malaysian badminton heroes Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, along with singles player Lee Zii Jia, have secured bronze medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. To celebrate their remarkable achievements, each athlete will be rewarded with a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro worth RM123,800.

Last June, Chery Malaysia announced that they will give a free car to our medalist winner where the gold medalists will be rewarded with a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, while the silver medalists will receive an all-electric Omoda E5. Bronze medalists on the other hand will be able to drive home a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.

The badminton match between the Malaysian duo of Chia and Soh and the Danish pair of Astrup and Skaarup was a thrilling contest. Despite facing an early deficit, Chia and Soh staged a remarkable comeback, winning the second set and forcing a decider. The final set was a tightly contested battle, ultimately resulting in a victory for the Malaysian pair, securing Malaysia’s first bronze medal at the games.

Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia clinched the bronze medal in men’s singles at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Overcoming a challenging first set, he staged a remarkable comeback against India’s Lakshya Sen to secure victory. This win marks Lee Zii Jia’s first Olympic medal and Malaysia’s second bronze at the games.

A total of three Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will be handed out to each of the three medallists. The cars are collectively worth about RM371,400. We at AutoBuzz.my would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to all our national athletes for bearing the Jalur Gemilang at the pinnacle of the world’s sporting event.

Chery Malaysia is offering discounts to Olympians on their Tiggo 8 Pro and Omoda 5 models, with semi-finalists (the likes of women badminton pair, Pearly Tan and Thinaah, cyclists, Muhammad Shah Firdaus and men weightlifter Aniq Kasdan) receiving a 30% discount. A 15% discount is being extended to the other Olympians who competed in the recent games.
