UMW Toyota Motor has introduced a new update to the beloved Toyota GR86 for 2024 here in Malaysia, with several new upgrades that are said to have enhanced the model’s driving dynamics.
Pricing for the fully-imported model remains unchanged, with the 6-speed manual (6MT) version coming in at RM295,000, and the automatic (6AT) variant of the 2024 Toyota GR86 priced at RM305,000. They’re both also covered by a standard five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

First unveiled globally last month, the updated 2024 Toyota GR86 boasts reworked damper tuning for its suspensions for “improved handling response and road feel”. The electronic power steering system has also been recalibrated to give drivers “more direct and engaging steering experience”.
Toyota adds that the throttle response on the 6MT variant has been “meticulously tuned” on the updated 2024 model for more linearity, while on the 6AT variant, the gearbox has also been retuned for earlier downshifts, resulting in higher RPM on corner exit, which not only helps with acceleration out, but will also give drivers more control on the balance of the car.
As an added bonus, the 2024 Toyota GR86 is now equipped as standard with a two-channel (front and rear) full HD dashcam as standard, giving owners one less cost (and wiring mess!) to worry about.
