GWM Malaysia has just announced that it will finally be launching the Haval H6 in Q3 2024. The family SUV will be GWM Malaysia’s first locally assembled (CKD) model, a product of collaboration with EPMB.
Previewed to Malaysians since 2023, the Haval H6 is supposedly a rival to the likes of the Proton X70. It measures 4,683 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,724 mm tall. Its wheelbase measures 2,738 mm long. Generally, the Haval H6 is slightly larger than the X70.

And just to give you an idea of what the Haval H6 could feel like, it is a hybrid SUV that gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that is paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The transmission essentially has an electric drive system integrated inside it. The Haval H6 HEV is a front-wheel drive (FWD) SUV and its powertrain outputs a maximum of 243 hp and a cumulative torque of 530 Nm.

If you’re wondering, the engine itself makes 150 hp (metric) and 230 Nm. The DHT itself makes 177 hp (metric) and 300 Nm. According to Haval, DHT “is a highly integrated, high-efficiency, multi-mode petrol-electric hybrid system with dual-motor hybrid technology to achieve an all-speed and all-scenario perfect balance between high efficiency and high performance.”
Inside, the Haval H6 sports a black interior for the “Pro” variant and a light interior for the “Ultra” variant. Both with a 2-tone design, Featured on the inside of the Haval H6 HEV is a 12.3-inch central touchscreen head unit and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a wireless mobile phone charger. Tha variant offerings of the H6 in Malaysia have yet to be confirmed.
