Touch ‘n Go “Walao Eh Just in Penang” campaign launched – Rebates for RFID & NFC card



Touch ‘n Go has launched its 3-month “Walao Eh Just in Penang” campaign. The campaign is aimed to encourage cashless payment options for an integrated mobility experience, covering toll, transit, and parking among Penangites.

There will also be the “Walao Eh Just in Penang” roadshow which will run from now till December 2023, across multiple locations in Penang Island and Seberang Perai. The roadshow aims to introduce Touch ‘n Go’s mobility solutions to the people of Penang in the form of the brand’s RFID and enhanced Touch ‘n Go card (better known as the NFC card).

A specially fitted mobile truck will be parked at key locations across Penang, allowing the people of Penang a chance to enjoy special campaign offers and instant rebates upon purchasing Touch ‘n Go’s selected products at the roadshow locations. This includes RFID tags as well as exclusive Touch ‘n Go bundle sets which consist of one RFID tag and an NFC card.

Visitors can also opt to get complimentary fitment of their RFID tags to their vehicles by the fitment crew on site. By visiting the “Walao Eh Just in Penang” roadshow, visitors can also enjoy various activities, as well as the chance to win exciting prizes. This includes Touch ‘n Go eWallet reload PINs, vouchers, and merchandise.

The officiation ceremony for the campaign was held at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Georgetown and was graced by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow as the guest of honour.

The state applauds Touch ‘n Go’s initiative and support, and we would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude for organizing this campaign to assist and equip Penangites with the right tools to go fully cashless.”

During the launch event, Praba also presented a RM50,000 mock cheque to YAB Chow Kon Yeow. This is a contribution to Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia for the development of key initiatives and programmes which focus on digital inclusion and tech literacy for the various local communities. A second mock cheque of RM15,000 was presented to Penang Heritage Trust for the preservation and conservation of heritage buildings in Penang.
