Cycle & Carriage has been appointed as Leapmotor’s distribution operations partner in Malaysia, marking the addition of a second Stellantis brand to its portfolio alongside Peugeot. This development directly builds upon a broader retail partnership with Stellantis Malaysia established in 2024.
The start of distribution operations will see Cycle & Carriage expanding Leapmotor’s distribution network to locations in George Town, Penang, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, alongside the opening of Leapmotor’s flagship three-S centre in Glenmarie.
Stellantis ASEAN Managing Director Isaac Yeo said, “We are segmenting very clear priorities to focus on our strengths in key areas to come in strong and competitively in the market, not only for the company, but also for the customers. At the end of the day, it’s all about being able to service the customers at a very good cost and being able to sell cars at a very strong quality and a good price.”
Cycle & Carriage CEO Adrian Short noted that the distribution rights for Leapmotor reinforce the company’s existing relationship with Stellantis Malaysia. He added that the local market is moving swiftly into electric mobility, driven by growing consumer demand for innovative, tech-focused vehicles that remain practical for daily use.
The appointment of Cycle & Carriage as Leapmotor’s distribution operations partner in Malaysia coincides with the start of local assembly (CKD) operations for the Leapmotor C10 at Stellantis’s plant in Gurun, Kedah. Backed by an investment of RM25 million, the facility maintains an annual capacity of 60,000 units. According to Yeo, production begins with the C10, with the smaller B10 slated to join the local assembly line within the next two to three months.
