Updated 2026 Leapmotor C10 teased for Malaysia – More power, to arrive as a CKD model?

Stellantis Malaysia has teased the arrival of the updated Leapmotor C10 in the country via two social media posts on the Leapmotor Malaysia Facebook page. One of these posts, featuring the caption “More Power, More Range”, suggests that the updated 2026 Leapmotor C10 will arrive with a revamped powertrain, potentially mirroring the specifications of the refreshed model launched in China in 2025.

The changes are primarily mechanical (electrical?), as the exterior remains largely identical to the outgoing model, bar a new exterior colour similar to the Dawn Purple seen on the Leapmotor B10. Reports by CarNewsChina indicate that the updated C10 is now based on an 800V architecture.

This shift sees the rear-mounted electric motor uprated to now producing 299 hp (220 kW), an 81 hp increase over the current C10’s 218 hp (160 kW). Thanks to the extra power, the 0-100 km/h sprint has been reduced to 5.9 seconds, down from the previous 7.5 seconds.

The upgraded powertrain is also paired with a larger lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery boasting a capacity of 74.9 kWh. This allows for a range of 605 km (CLTC), which translates to an estimated WLTP range of approximately 496 km. For comparison, the outgoing Leapmotor C10 in Malaysia offers a range of 424 km (WLTP) from its 69.9 kWh LFP battery.

While specific charging details remain undisclosed, Leapmotor states that the 800V architecture enables the updated C10 to recharge from 30-80% in around 16 minutes.

Other updates include a 50W wireless charging pad and electrically powered door handles. In China, the updated Leapmotor C10 now features an integrated LiDAR sensor, suggesting the introduction of a more advanced ADAS suite. Supporting this is a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset for the infotainment system, which replaces the outgoing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155.

The introduction of the updated Leapmotor C10 could also mark the arrival of the locally assembled (CKD) model. Production was originally slated to commence by the end of 2025, supported by an initial investment of five million Euros (approx. RM24 million) into the Stellantis production plant in Gurun, Kedah.

This facility would make the C10 the first EV to be assembled at the site, with the model eventually joined by other models, potentially including the Leapmotor B10 and the range-extender (REEV) version of the C10, with export operations expected to start in 2027.

Currently, the Leapmotor C10 is available as a single variant in Malaysia, priced at RM125,000 on-the-road without insurance. This figure reflects a significant price reduction of RM34,000 introduced in mid 2025, which coincided with an equipment list update that added an 11 kW AC on-board charger, a 32-litre frunk, and a motorised tyre inflator kit. The potential introduction of a CKD variant could potentially see this sticker price reduced even further.
